May 13, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese airlines will raise the fuel tax by 40-50% starting from May 16.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to Chinese edition Yicai, that the fuel surcharge will increase from 60 up to 90 yuans (from $8.77 up to $13.1) for flights up to 800 km; from 120 up to 170 yuans (from $17.5 up to $24.8) for flights over 800 km.
By the end of April, fuel charges for domestic air transportation in China grew fivefold due to rising global energy prices because of the conflict in the Middle East and the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.
