May 4, Fineko/abc.az. The port infrastructure on the U.S. Gulf Coast is operating at its limit: because of the war in Iran and supply disruptions from the Middle East, tankers are lining up for American oil.
ABC.AZ reports that according to Kpler, U.S. oil exports in April reached a record of 5.2 million b/d, more than 30% higher than in February. The main hub has become the Port of Corpus Christi, which has dramatically increased its importance amid the de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
The head of the port, Kent Britton, reported a record workload: in March, more than 240 ships were serviced at a rate of about 200, and up to 60 supertankers are heading to the U.S. per day - twice as many as a year ago. The main demand is provided by Asian countries, which previously depended on Middle Eastern oil.
