Oil price goes down: Brent - below $95 a barrel

June 2, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are declining in Tuesday’s trading after a significant increase in the previous trading session.

As of 09:25, the price of August’s Brent crude futures at the ICE Futures exchange decreased by $0.81 (0.85%) to $94.17 per barrel. Following the trading on June 1, the contract rose in price by $3.86 (4.24%) up to $94.98 per barrel.

At the same time, the price of July’s WTI crude oil futures at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) fell by $0.90 (0.98%) to $91.26 per barrel by 09:25. Following the previous session, the contract grew in price by $4.80 (5.49%) up to $92.16 per barrel.

For comparison, a year ago the price of oil was significantly lower: on June 2, 2025, Brent was traded at $64.32 per barrel, while WTI was traded at $62.55 per barrel. Thus, prices have increased by about 46% over the year.
