Bayraktar: Over 40% of TANAP's bandwidth is still not being used

June 1, Fineko/abc.az. More than 40% of the capacity of the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) is still not being used.

ABC.AZ reports that Turkish Minister of Energy & Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated about this at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

He said that at the moment, the main task is to maximize the use of all existing infrastructure:

"As for the Iraq–Turkey oil pipeline, as you remember, we have repeatedly discussed this at various events. Today, if we can use the existing infrastructure, there is potential to transport up to 1.5 million b/d of oil. Secondly, due to relatively small investments, we can increase this throughput. For example, it is possible to extend the Iraq–Turkey oil pipeline from Kirkuk to Basra and thereby ensure its full capacity. In other words, these are projects that we can develop. In addition, we can invest in new infrastructure interconnector projects in both pipelines and electricity."
