IAEA Chief Grossi: Kazakhstan can accept enriched uranium from Iran on its territory

June 1, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan has the opportunity to receive enriched uranium from Iran for subsequent storage.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.

He added that such a compromise solution was proposed during a constructive dialogue with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Grossi emphasized that the Low Enriched Uranium Bank (BNB) has been successfully operating in Kazakhstan for several years under the auspices of the IAEA. In this regard, the Central Asian country has all the necessary technological infrastructure and legal framework for the guaranteed safe storage of these nuclear materials.
