Sharp growth reported on copper production and decline on silver and gold extraction for Jan-Apr

May 21, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 4 months of 2026, copper production in Azerbaijan increased sharply, while silver and gold production reduced.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that production of copper concentrate reached 9,013 tons (13.4-fold more against the 2025 same term).

Silver production totaled 1,305 kg (a year-on-year drop of 4.9%).

Gold extraction amounted to 826 kg (a rise of 80.5% versus Jan-Apr 2025). As of May 1, 2026, stocks of finished products in industrial warehouses totaled 5,351.2 tons of copper concentrate, 491.3 kg of silver, and 84.1 kg of gold.

Anglo Asian Mining plc predicts that copperextraction in Azerbaijan will increase nearly 3-fold in 2026. According to company's statement, this figure is expected to reach 20,000-25,000 tons in 2026. The growth will occur mainly due to the full-fledged commissioning of the Gilar and Demirli fields.
