May 14, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan annually graduates close to 4,000 specialists in the fields of IT, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, but their level of training does not always meet the requirements of the labor market.
ABC.AZ informs that Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev made the above-said statement at a press conference dedicated to the AZCON - AZSET School of Engineering & Technologies.
According to the minister, in the context of rapid development of AI and digital technologies, the future of the country directly depends on the level of knowledge and skills of young people.
"The main objective of our meeting today is to take an important step towards creating an educational and scientific center that will be able to develop such knowledge and skills," Nabiyev said.
The minister says that an analysis of the state of IT education in the country and employers' expectations from university graduates was conducted jointly with the Ministry of Science & Education of Azerbaijan.
"The study shows that around 4,000 students graduate from these specialties annually. At first glance, this is a fairly high indicator, but when communicating with employers, it becomes clear that quantity does not always correspond to quality," he stressed.
