June 3, Fineko/abc.az. IBM plans to invest more than $10 bn in development of quantum technologies over the next 5 years.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the company, that the funds will be used to create more powerful quantum systems, develop software and infrastructure. IMBM intends to create the first large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029.

IBM already operates one of the largest quantum networks in the world, with more than 340 organizations connected to it. The new program is aimed at moving to systems capable of correcting errors on their own and performing more complex calculations.

Experts believe that development of such technologies can accelerate progress in pharmaceuticals, materials science, financial modeling and artificial intelligence.
