April 23, Fineko/abc.az. The total budget of planned projects in the field of petrochemistry and downstream in Kazakhstan for the next 5 years is $15 billion.
ABC.AZ informs that Petroсouncil.kz’s chairman of board Asylbek Dzhakiyev said this during the 2nd oil trade & transport forum "Caspian & Central Asia" in Baku.
He added that Kazakhstan sets an ambitious goal: to reach the production volume of 100 million tons of oil a year by 2030. Today, the country is one of the TOP 10 largest oil and gas producers in the world.
"The question is extremely important for us now: how exactly will we transport petrochemical products in the next five years? For example, as part of a $7.6 billion polyethylene production project, Kazakhstan plans to produce 1.2 million tons of products. Another project is to produce 900,000 tons of butadiene worth $1.1 billion. Of course, Azerbaijan and the Middle Corridor will become priority destinations for us, as, according to our forecasts, the Northern Route may remain closed for the next 5-10 years," Dzhakiyev said.
