April 21, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st quarter of 2026, 68.6% of foreign citizens and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan by air, 29.8% by rail and road, and 1.6% by sea.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that for Jan-Mar 2026 the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled to foreign countries reached 452,600 people (3.5% less against Q1 of 2025).

Of them, 40.2% visited Turkey (6.4% more than a year earlier), 15.6% visited Russia (4.0% less), 10.2% visited Georgia (11.0% less), 9.3% visited Iran (15.8% less), and 24.7% went to other countries (8.7% less).

66.3% of those leaving accounted for men and 33.7% for women.

When traveling abroad, 69% of citizens used air transport, 29% — rail and road, and 2% — sea transport.
