April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Latvia is interested in importing tomatoes of Azerbaijani origin.

ABC.AZ informs that Latvian Minister of Agriculture Armands Krausen stated this at the 9th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission.

He added that despite the logistical difficulties, geographical remoteness is not considered a serious problem: "Currently, we mainly import tomatoes from Spain, or rather from the Andalusia region. However, this distance is about 3,900 km. The distance between Baku and Riga is nearly 3,200 km. And this proves that the supply of high-quality fruits and vegetables from Azerbaijan to Latvia is quite realistic."

The minister stressed that Azerbaijani products, mainly vegetables and fruits, differ in their quality, and in the future there is a possibility of their representation in the Latvian market.

Krausen noted that deepening cooperation in this area could have a positive impact on the expansion of agricultural trade between the two countries.
