15:35 - 7.04.2026

April 7, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Feb 2026, Azerbaijan exported 4.381 bcm of natural gas ofr approx. $1.285 billion.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Customs Committee, that compared with Jan-Feb 2025, exports grew by nearly 5%.

In Dutch gas hub TTF, the price of European gas futures increased by 3.1% to 50.8 euros per MWh, which corresponds to about $620 per 1,000 cu m.

The price rise is taking place against the background of increasing geopolitical tensions around Iran. Since the beginning of the escalation of the situation, gas prices have increased more than by 55%, according to Bloomberg.

At the same time, gas reserves in European underground storage facilities remain at roughly 28%, which increases competition for LNG supplies ahead of the next heating season.

Europe is the main export market for Azerbaijani natural gas. More than half of overall supplies (around 2.3–2.5 bcm) falls on the countries of the European Union.

Since the beginning of 2026, the number of importing countries of Azerbaijani gas has reached 16. In March of this year, at a meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku, Germany and Austria were noted to be among the buyers of Azerbaijani gas, and the capacity of the TAP gas pipeline was increased by 1.2 bcm a year.

The average export price of natural gas, included in the State Budget of Azerbaijan for the first two months of 2026, was $440 per 1,000 cu m.
