April 6, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi Arabia has raised the price of its main oil grade for Asia up to a record high, ABC.AZ informs, referring to Bloomberg.
According to the price list, Saudi Aramco, the state oil company, has increased the cost of benchmark oil Arab Light for May sales by $19.5 per barrel compared to the benchmark grade for refineries in Asia.
The decision to raise selling prices was caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as uncertainty about the future state of the conflict in Iran.
Oil prices have increased more than by 60% since the beginning of the war in Iran on February 28 and are steadily holding at the triple-digit mark. The market situation remains volatile, and long-term forecasts depend on the development of the conflict, OPEC+ actions and other factors.
