Azerbaijan's investments in Georgia's economy exceed $3 bn

February 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's overall investments in Georgia's economy exceeded $3.1 bn.

ABC.AZ reports that Georgian Minister of Economy & Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili made the above-said statement at the VII Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Business Forum, held in Kakheti region.

She noted that her country is strengthening its role as an economic center in the region: "Georgia continues to become an important platform for major trading partners and investors in the region. For example, Turkey became Georgia's first trading partner in 2025. And Azerbaijan, having become one of the country's largest economic partners, took the 7th place."

Kvrivishvili emphasized the strategic nature of economic ties with Azerbaijan and noted that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, transport and trade plays an important role for regional development.

"The Georgian government, acting as a reliable partner in the region, intends to contribute to expansion of economic cooperation. The government plans to invest heavily in transport and logistics infrastructure to ensure sustainable economic development. By 2032, it is planned to invest approx. $7 bn in this sphere, which will increase Georgia's regional transit potential," she stressed.
