February 25, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 7,579 tons of corn in January of this year.

The cost of corn in this volume reached $1.41 million, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Customs Committee.

Compared with January 2025, the import of hazelnuts was 12,589 tons (62.4%) less and the cost by $2.8 million (66.5%) less.

The cost of imported corn made up 0.1% of Azerbaijan's overall import costs.

Last month, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with foreign countries for $3.538 billion (30.5% less versus January 2025), including exports for $2.236 billion and imports for $1.302 billion. Decline of 26.4% was reported on exports and by 36.5% on imports. Foreign trade surplus reached $934 million (5.3% less than a year ago).
