December 23, Fineko/abc.az. The decrease in the level of the Caspian Sea creates problems for transportation.
ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Gummetov stated this at the II Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum in Baku.
"In some ports, our ferries are forced to accept cargo that is less than 50% of their cargo capacity. Because the channels are silting up. Naturally, this cargo is transported not only by the Azerbaijani side. There is a profit opportunity in all parts of the supply chain, logistics, etc. The only unprofitable issue is the transportation itself across the Caspian Sea. In this regard, we must step up our joint efforts. We invite all participating countries, primarily Turkish companies, to participate in this process. Of course, we need to find a business model for this," Gummetov said.
