December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Kuwait will sign a contract with a Chinese company for the construction of the Mubarak Al-Kabir port worth $4 billion.

The Mubarak Al Kabir Port on Bubiyan Island is a key strategic project of Kuwait and is considered by China as part of the One Belt, One Road initiative.

ABC.AZ reports that the project is aimed at creating a regional trade hub and supporting the diversification of country's economy. The Kuwaiti authorities reported that about 50% of the first stage works had been completed. The construction of the port is being carried out by the Chinese Communications Construction Company (CCCC) as part of a number of joint megaprojects between the two countries.
