November 26, Fineko/abc.az. Uber announced the launch of fully self-driving rides in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, which is the fourth market where the company offers a robotaxi service. The new project was implemented in partnership with Chinese company WeRide, specializing in autonomous transport.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to CNBC, that the service became the first in the Middle East region, now users can order an unmanned WeRide taxi when booking standard UberX and Uber Comfort rides in Yas Island. The partnership with WeRide was concluded in September 2024, and the first test trips with the operator started in December of last year.
