Kazakhstan plans to buy two container ships in Azerbaijan with capacity of 700 containers

November 25, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan plans to buy two cargo ships in Azerbaijan with capacity of 700 containers for container transportation across the Caspian Sea, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev.

"In order to increase container traffic across the Caspian Sea by 2027, it is planned to purchase two vessels with capacity of 700 containers in Azerbaijan. Work is also underway to increase the capacity of the railway line running to the ports. The implementation of these projects will increase the capacity of Aktau and Kuryk ports up to 30 million tons," Sauranbayev added at a government meeting on Tuesday.
