October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is investing in climate-resilient water supply systems.

ABC.AZ informs that Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov stated about this during his speech on the third day of the Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025).

He noted that irrigation modernization is crucial and investments are directed to climate-resilient water supply systems such as semi-desert areas that conserve every drop of water.

According to the minister, smart agriculture should go hand in hand with sustainable water and land management: "Agriculture remains a priority area for the government of Azerbaijan. This industry contributes not only to GDP, but also to food security, rural employment, and our cultural identity. Our farmers are resilient, and it is our responsibility to provide them with the best financial, technological, and institutional environment to succeed in the face of climate change."

Mammadov stressed that today's discussions will make valuable contribution, exchange innovative experience and create practical solutions: "Let's work together to build a farmer-oriented, climate-resilient and digitally enhanced agriculture for Azerbaijan and the global world."
