EBRD updates forecast for Azerbaijan's economic growth

12:45 - 25.09.2025

September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The EBRD has updated its forecast for Azerbaijan's economic growth.

ABC.AZ informs that in a new report, the EBRD has set a forecast for Azerbaijan's economic growth of 2% in 2025 and 2.5% in 2026.

In other words, compared with the previous forecast, the EBRD lowered the forecast of Azerbaijan's economic growth for 2025 by 1 percentage point, while the forecast for 2026 remained unchanged.

The new forecast is related to activity in the non-oil sector and its compensation for weaker indicators in the oil sector.

"Volatility in energy prices, uncertainty in global trade and regional geopolitics pose risks of slowing economic growth. Potential for GDP growth is linked to energy cooperation with the EU, expansion of the Middle Corridor, and peaceful agenda with Armenia, which can lead to opening of new trade routes and increase investor confidence," the EBRD added.
