September 11, Fineko/abc.az. The best technologies in the world have been selected to address water challenges on the Absheron Peninsula, Barak Graber, Director of the International Relations Department at Israel’s national water company Mekorot, said during a panel discussion at the 2nd International Water Management Exhibition and Conference, Baku Water Week.

According to ABC.AZ, which cites Report, that he said that as part of the planned desalination project on the Absheron Peninsula, the Ministry of Economy and the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan (ADSEA) selected the most optimal technological solution through a tender process, ensuring competition among the world's best desalination technologies.

Graber emphasized the importance of a clear delineation of roles between the state and the private sector in implementing effective water projects:

“The government sets the boundaries, rules, and objectives, while the private sector applies the best technologies and solutions to achieve these goals. This approach maximizes benefits for both the state and the private sector. This model is the key to success in the water sector, including in the management of water projects.”
