September 10, Fineko/abc.az. The 2nd International Water Management Exhibition and Conference, Baku Water Week, has opened in Baku.
According to ABC.AZ, the opening ceremony featured speeches by Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan, and Farid Mammadov, CEO of Caspian Event Organisers.
Mikayilov highlighted that the implementation of digital monitoring and management systems is making water management more transparent and flexible.
“New technological solutions are being introduced to ensure the efficient use of water resources. At the same time, water quality control systems are being improved, and comprehensive measures are being taken to minimize losses,” he said.
He noted that these projects contribute to the development of agriculture, the provision of drinking water to the population, environmental protection, and the socio-economic growth of regions.
Baku Water Week also serves as a platform for experience exchange and the exploration of innovative methods for sustainable water resource management.
“New water infrastructure improves water supply, agriculture, environmental protection, and food security, while boosting employment and the well-being of the population. At Baku Water Week, practical approaches to sustainable water management are being discussed,” Mikayilov added.
