Chinese company to establish new manufacturing plant in Alat

During a visit to China led by Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-China Intergovernmental Commission Shahin Mustafayev, an investment agreement was signed on September 9 in Chengdu between the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority and Chinese high-tech company Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. for the establishment of a solar panel manufacturing plant in the Alat Free Economic Zone.

According to ABC.AZ, that the agreement was signed by Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority, and Xi Yi, Founder and Chairman of Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd.

Under the agreement, the company will construct three modern production facilities on a 23-hectare industrial site within the zone, fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure and communications. The facilities will produce solar panels with an annual capacity of 3 gigawatts, as well as silicon crystals and related components.

The solar panels manufactured at the plant will also be used by the company in the construction of a solar power station within the Alat Free Economic Zone. A significant portion of production will be exported to international markets, further enhancing Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic hub for renewable energy manufacturing.
