July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Elchin Gasimov has been appointed Ambassador of Slovakia to Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the press service of the President of Slovakia.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini presented his credentials to the new heads of diplomatic missions of 8 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia at the Presidential Palace.

Pellegrini stressed that current events in the world require a more active approach in the diplomatic service. At the same time, he also called for paying more attention to the countries of Asia or Africa, since their political and economic importance is constantly growing.

"New opportunities are opening up here and there is a growing need to work more closely with them in solving global problems or maintaining a functional international order," the Slovak president said.
