June 17, Fineko/abc.az. The future of Islamic finance does not depend on individual national initiatives, but on collective efforts and strengthening international cooperation.
ABC.AZ informs Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s governor Taleh Kazimov made the above-said statement at the 20th Global Forum of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Baku.
He expressed confidence that one of the most important outcomes of this forum will be further strengthening of institutional cooperation between different jurisdictions.
According to Kazimov, today's event is another confirmation of the commitment of Islamic finance to the principles of integrity, transparency and innovations.
"Azerbaijan is ready to contribute to development of the Islamic financial ecosystem. By celebrating the 20th IDB Group Forum, we are simultaneously shaping the future of this ecosystem. Azerbaijan, as a country of reforms and a bridge between regions and markets, strives to become a part of this future. Geography shapes our conditions, and choice determines our future. We have a clear vision of where we are going and how we will achieve it. Our history has always been about our role at crossroads. May our future be shaped through cooperation and connections that we create today," he said.
