Annual inflation in Eurozone rose up to 3.2% in May

June 5, Fineko/abc.az. According to preliminary data from the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), annual inflation in the Eurozone rose to 3.2% in May of this year. A month earlier, in April, this figure was 3.0%.

ABC.AZ reports that an analysis of the main components of inflation shows that the largest annual growth in May was recorded in the energy sector.

Indicators on key components of inflation:

Energy resources: Energy prices grew by 10.9% year-on-year (in April, rise was 10.8%).

Services: The services sector recorded acceleration in price growth to 3.5% compared with 3.0% in April.

Food, alcohol and tobacco: In this category, the price growth rate slowed slightly to 2.0% (in April, the figure was 2.4%).

Non-energy industrial goods: Annual price growth grew slightly and made up 0.9% against 0.8% in April.
