June 5, Fineko/abc.az. Cultural expenses for Jan-Apr 2026 also decreased by 18.7% to 3.969 million manats.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to official statistics, 322,000 manats were spent on the purchase of tourist goods for Jan-Apr. Compared with Jan-Apr 2025, these expenses declined by 20%.
1.82 million manats (-4%) were spent on car rental, 4.201 million manats (+0.6%) on sports and entertainment services, 85.403 million manats (-6.2%) on the purchase of goods and gifts, and 26.187 million manats (-19.3%) to other destinations.
As for the distribution by country, tourists from Russia incurred the most expenses. Tourist expenses declined by 9.4% over the year and amounted to 204.677 million manats.
Expenses of tourists from Turkey amounted to 97.049 million manats (3% more than last year). The expenses of tourists from India declined 4-fold to 39.999 million manats.
Over Jan-Apr 2026, 658,500 people from 175 countries visited Azerbaijan (10.5% less than foreigners and stateless persons compared with Jan-Apr 2025.
According to available information, 26.7% of the arrivals were from Russia, 22.4% from Turkey, 8.7% from Iran, 5.3% from Georgia, 4.5% from Kazakhstan, 3.2% from Uzbekistan, 3.0% from India, 2.7% from Pakistan, 2.2% from China, 2.1% from Saudi Arabia, 1.6% from Ukraine, 1.5% from Turkmenistan, 1.4% from Israel, 1.1% each from Germany and Great Britain, 12.5% were citizens of other countries and stateless persons, 70.9% were men and 29.1% - women.
Compared with Jan-Apr 2025, the number of arrivals from the EU member states increased by 17.1% to 32,600 people, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries grew by 3.5% up to 251,500 people, the number of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries decreased by 27.8% to 85,100 people, and the number of arrivals from other countries, it decreased by 16.7% to 289,300 people.
Of the foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in the country, 69.1% traveled air transport, 29.3% by rail and road transport, and 1.6% by sea.
