May 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Apr 2026, the retail chain sold goods for 20.1 bn manats to consumers, including food, beverages and tobacco products for 11.2 bn manats, and non-food products for 8.9 bn manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that compared with Jan-Apr 2025, retail trade turnover increased by 3.7% in real terms, including for food, beverages and tobacco products by 1.4%, and for non-food products by 6.6%.

During this period, food accounted for 50.6% of population's retail spending, 5.0% for beverages and tobacco products, 13.1% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 6.4% for motor fuel, 4.3% for electrical goods and furniture, 2.9% for pharmaceutical products and medical supplies., 1.6% for computers, telecommunication equipment and printed products, and 16.1% for other non-food products.

On average, one resident of the country spent 489.5 manats per month in retail trade, and 272 manats of them accounted for food, beverages and tobacco products and 217.5 manats for non-food products.
