May 8, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of the blockade, the number of freight trains from Xi'an to Tehran has increased from one per week to one every 3-4 days.

ABC.AZ informs that according to Bloomberg, the cost of transportation has increased to approx. $7,000 per 40-foot container, which is 40% higher than the usual level.

Now the flow is mostly one-way: industrial and consumer goods (auto parts, electronics, generators) go to Iran. In response, Tehran is considering exporting petrochemicals by rail.

Iran also plans to develop the North–South corridor towards Russia and may transfer up to 40% of maritime trade to overland routes.
