January 26, Fineko/abc.az. In addition to being a reliable energy partner in ensuring Israel's energy security, Azerbaijan is an important investor in Israel's energy sector.

ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said this at the Azerbaijani-Israeli Business Forum in Baku.

He added that one of the important areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel is the energy sector:

"It should be noted that Azerbaijan, in addition to its role as a reliable energy partner in ensuring Israel's energy security, also acts as an important investor in the Israeli energy sector. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), in partnership with BP and NewMed, has obtained licenses for gas exploration in the exclusive economic zone of Israel and is acting as the operator at the exploration stage. At the same time, the acquisition of a 10% stake in Tamar gas field reflects the strengthening of this partnership."

The minister stressed that the Israeli pharmaceutical company continues implementing the project in Azerbaijan.
