Hikmet Mirzoev became deputy minister – Appointment

January 12, Fineko/abc.az. Lieutenant General Hikmet Mirzayev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense, Commander of the ground forces.

ABC.AZ reports that an order has been signed in this regard.

Earlier, Lt.-Gen Anvar Efendiyev, who held this position, was dismissed to the reserve.

Hikmet Mirzoyev was the commander of the special forces before this appointment.

One of the main military leaders of the April battles and military operations in the Patriotic War, Mirzoyev commanded the liberation of Jabrayil and Shusha from occupation.

During the Patriotic War, President Ilham Aliyev awarded him the rank of Lieutenant General. Subsequently, Mirzoyev was awarded the title of Hero of the Patriotic War.
