May 21, Fineko/abc.az. Retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel have been rising in China since May 22 because of growing global oil prices and the energy crisis, ABC.AZ reports with refeeence to the State Committee for Development & Reforms of the People's Republic of China.
The cost of fuel will increase by 75 yuans per ton of gasoline and 70 yuans per ton of diesel. The decision was made amid fluctuations in the global oil market relating to tensions in the Middle East and supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz.
The authorities have instructed the largest oil companies, including CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC, to ensure stable supply to the market and strengthen control over pricing policy.
