May 19, Fineko/abc.az. An intergovernmental agreement on the transit of electricity to Turkey has been signed between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy that the document was signed during the Baku visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for participation in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The two countries have once again confirmed their strategic partnership by signing a package of comprehensive agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, energy and logistics.
The signed documents include intergovernmental agreements on the supply of natural gas to Georgia, continuation of transit arrangements for additional supplies of Azerbaijani gas to international markets, the supply of electricity to Georgia and the transit of electricity to Turkey through Georgian territory. The sides also signed a protocol of the Coordination Council, confirming the final acceptance and completion of modernization work within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.
