May 1, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan plans to significantly reduce the number of on-site customs inspections by introducing amendments to the Customs Code.
ABC.AZ informs that SCC chairman Shahin Bagirov said this at the Milli Majlis plenary session during the 1st reading discussion of the draft amendments to the Customs Code.
He noted that the current norm on on-site customs audit has been applied for many years, but the new approach involves a clearer separation of on-site and on-site inspections.
The desk check will be carried out remotely based on electronic data, while the on-site check will be carried out in accordance with the established rules jointly with the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
Bagirov also said that video recording and other forms of documentation are provided as part of the on-site customs audit.
According to the chairman, based on the results of the inspections, mechanisms for appealing decisions in court and their administrative cancellation will be determined. He stressed that the development of the system is aimed at making the customs audit more remote and creating fewer barriers for business.
