April 7, Fineko/abc.az. Cuba is facing severe power outages due to worn-out infrastructure and fuel supply problems, leaving millions of residents without electricity.
ABC.AZ informs that Turkish floating power plant Belgin Sultan, which arrived at the port of Havana and promptly connected to the city's power grid, is designed to solve this problem, ensuring stable electricity supply to a significant part of the city without the need to build stationary facilities.
As newspaper Turkiye notes, such a Turkish model of floating power plants allows for a quick response to energy crises. The situation is aggravated by U.S.’ restrictions: in January, duties were imposed on oil imports to Cuba and a state of emergency was declared, which, according to Havana, is aimed at undermining the economy and worsening the lives of the population.
