February 25, Fineko/abc.az. This January, Azerbaijan imported 8,231 tons of rice for $7,322.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, that compared with January 2025, country’s imports decreased by 15.5 tons (0.2%) in quantitative terms and by $895,000 (10.9%) in value.

The share of rice import costs in Azerbaijan's overall import costs was 0.6%.

In January 2026, Azerbaijan's foreign trade totaled $3.538 billion (30.5% less against January 2025), including exports for $2.236 billion and imports for $1.302 billion. In annual terms, exports declined by 26.4% and imports by 36.5%.

As a result, foreign trade surplus reached $934 million (5.3% less than last year).
