October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2025, 1,720,500 foreigners and stateless persons from 182 countries arrived in Azerbaijan (1.6% less versus Jan-Aug 2024).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 25.5% of persons came from Russia, 16.9% from Turkey, 7.8% from Iran, 7.3% from India, 4.6% from Saudi Arabia, 4.1% from Georgia, 4% from Kazakhstan, 3.4% from Pakistan, 2.4% from China, 2.2% from Uzbekistan, 2.1% from Israel, 1.8% from the UAE, 1.4% from Ukraine, by 1.2% from Turkmenistan and Kuwait, 1% from Belarus, and 13.1% from other countries. Of them, men made up 66.2% and women - 33.8%.

Compared with Jan-Aug 2024, the number of arrivals increased: from Tajikistan - 1.9-fold, from Israel - 1.7-fold, from Japan - 1.5-fold, from China - 1.5-fold, from Jordan - by 48.7%, from Kyrgyzstan - by 32.9%, from Uzbekistan - by 27.8%, from Kazakhstan - by 19.4%, from Pakistan - by 17.2%, from Canada - by 17.1%, from the Netherlands - by 16.5%, from Germany - by 15%, from the USA - by 14.5%, from Italy - by 12.7%, from the UK - by 10.6%.

For Jan-Aug 2024, the number of arrivals from the EU member states grew by 7.5% up to 73,000 people, from the Persian Gulf countries decreased by 6.3% to 287,800 and from the CIS countries by 6.1% to 600,900, and from other countries increased by 3.5% up to 758,800.

76% of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in our country traveled by air, 22.6% by rail and road, and 1.4% by sea.
