September 16, Fineko/abc.az. Heydar Aliyev International Airport reached a record high in August 2025, serving about 840,000 passengers.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the airport's message, that this figure is the highest result in all the years of observations by the end of August. A total of 8,238 flights were performed during this period.

During the summer season, Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Dubai and Tbilisi became the most popular destinations for passengers. Among the 38 international airlines serving these routes, Turkish Airlines, AJet, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia and Wizz Air stood out, demonstrating high passenger traffic.

There was also a marked increase in the number of transit passengers. Thus, in August of this year, 42,053 passengers passed through the Heydar Aliyev Airport (12.1% more versus the 2024 same term).

The number of passengers transported by national airline AZAL via route Baku–Nakhchivan–Baku increased by 2% compared with August 2024 and reached 79,120 people. The number of flights in this direction increased to 372 during the month.

The Heydar Aliyev Airport continues its activities to ensure high-quality passenger service and flight safety, while strengthening Azerbaijan's position as one of the key transit centers on the international aviation map.
