October 14, Fineko/abc.az. As of September 1, 2024, the number of employees in the country's economy reached 1,754,900 people, including 878,300 ones employed in the public sector and 876,600 in the private sector.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the State Statistics Committee, 18.9% of employees are engaged in trade; vehicle repair, 18.2% in education, 12.8% in industry, 8.3% in healthcare and social services for the population, 6.9% in construction, 6.4% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% in transport and warehousing, 3.8% were engaged in professional scientific and technical activities, 3.3% were engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.2% in financial and insurance activities and 14.9% in other areas of the economy.

Over Jan-Aug 2024, average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country's economy increased by 8% versus Jan-Aug 2023 up to 997.1 manats.

The average monthly nominal salary of employees for Jan-Jul 2024 amounted to 1,002.4 manats (5.3 manats or 0.5% less against the 2023 same term).

The average monthly nominal salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communications, as well as in transport and warehousing.
