Electricity generation at wind power plants in Azerbaijan grew almost 67-fold

June 18, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-May 2026, the wind power plants in Azerbaijan generated 427.4 million kWh of electricity (66.8-fold more versus the 2025 same term), ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Over the past 5 months, 10.486 billion kWh of electricity was produced in Azerbaijan (2.6% less against Jan-May 2025), including 10.179 billion kWh of commercial electricity (2% less in annual terms).

Hydroelectric power plants generated 1.444 billion kWh of electricity (4.1% less versus Jan-May 2025). Electricity production at thermal power plants totaled 8.019 billion kWh (a drop of 6.7%). The burning of biomass and waste generated 105.3 million kWh of electricity (6.7% more year-on-year).
