April 28, Fineko/abc.az. Meta and startup Overview Energy signed a unique agreement on the supply of 1 GW of electricity from space.

ABC.AZ informs that the essence of the technology is that the satellites will collect sunlight in orbit around the clock and transmit it to Earth in the form of safe infrared radiation. The system is independent of the weather and time of day, ensuring stable operation of Meta data centers for the development of AI.

In-orbit tests will take place in 2028, and the full launch of the system is scheduled for 2030.
