September 10, Fineko/abc.az. In January–August of this year, consumer prices in Azerbaijan rose by 5.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Prices for food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 6.6%, non-food products by 2.6%, and paid services by 6.9%.
According to ABC.AZ, citing the State Statistics Committee, consumer prices in August 2025 were 4.9% higher year-on-year (down from 5% in July). Food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco rose by 6.6%, non-food goods by 2.1%, and paid services by 4.9%.
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) also held its September meeting today, keeping the key interest rate unchanged at 7%, with a lower corridor of 6% and an upper corridor of 7%. The CBA’s target inflation range remains between 2% and 6%.
At the same time, the effective interest rate — the difference between the key rate and annual inflation — increased from 2% last month to 2.1%.
