September 5, Fineko/abc.az. Promising areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Peru include agriculture and the mining sector, particularly metal extraction, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov highlighted this in an interview with the Peruvian news agency Andina.

According to ABC.AZ, citing Report, he noted that Azerbaijan imports a variety of agricultural products from the region, including avocados, soybeans, blackberries, cranberries, and others.

“The purpose of this visit is also to explore opportunities for cooperation in this sector. Today, we discussed the structure of bilateral trade with colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, Azerbaijan mainly imports avocados, cranberries, and blackberries from Peru, while lubricating oils are exported from Azerbaijan to Peru. We also explored ways to diversify and expand the trade portfolio. For this, additional information is needed on products Azerbaijan can potentially export, taking into account the geographical distance and logistical challenges of the Latin American region,” the deputy minister emphasized.
