September 3, Fineko/abc.az. On August 8, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the United States initialed a peace agreement at the Washington summit and agreed to open the Zangazur Corridor.
According to ABC.AZ, the section of the corridor named the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), which covers a 42-kilometer stretch of Armenian territory, will be managed by an American company for 99 years.
The legal framework of the corridor remains unclear, as details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
However, it has been reported that Azerbaijani citizens will be able to travel freely through the Zangazur Corridor. Not long ago, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan avoided giving a direct answer when asked whether Azerbaijani cargo and passenger vehicles would be subject to customs controls on Armenian territory. He referred instead to the published document and statements by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, explaining the mechanism of mutual use.
