September 1, Fineko/abc.az – Nakhchivan is set to become an important logistics hub, Magdalena Grono, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, said commenting on the purpose of her visit to Nakhchivan.

According to ABC.AZ, which cites Report, she emphasized the strategic importance of the region, saying that Nakhchivan will become a key logistics center in the future due to its location at the heart of the global infrastructure route connecting Europe and Asia.

“Of course, Nakhchivan is a territory of significant strategic importance, where many major communication lines and roads intersect. Unfortunately, many of these roads were closed for many years and were also part of past conflicts. Communication opportunities in the region were limited. But I believe that opening these roads and developing transport and communication infrastructure overall will benefit all countries in the region. That is why we are here. Both the opening of roads and establishing and expanding links between Europe and Asia—including Central Asian countries—are priority issues for us,” said Grono.
