May 14, Fineko/abc.az. The leaders of the two countries, according to White House’s statement, agreed that the Strait of Hormuz should remain open for the free movement of energy resources.

ABC.AZ informs that the White House adds that Xi Jinping made it clear that China opposes the militarization of the Strait of Hormuz and any attempts to charge for its use.

"Xi Jinping also expressed interest in purchasing more American oil to diminish China's dependence on the Strait in the future," NBC News quoted a statement.

The White House called Trump's meeting with Xi Jinping a good one.

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the common interests of China and the U.S. outweigh the differences between the countries.
